INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO KMF

The B.Sc. Food Nutrition and Dietetics Department organized an industrial visit for third-year students on November 10, 2023, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Dakshina Kannada Co-operative Milk Producers Union Limited in Kulshekara, Mangalore. A total of 18 students participated in this informative outing. The main objective was to familiarize students with the workings of food industries, offering them a hands-on experience of the detailed processes in the milk industry. This was particularly relevant to their academic subject, Quality Control-II, which required practical exploration of food industry operations. During the visit, the guide explained the facility's operations and the various products it produces. Students also had a special visit to the quality control lab, where various food tests are conducted before dispatching milk samples to the public. This practical exposure provided valuable insights, enhancing students' understanding of the industry's intricate processes. Ms. Shaila Moras was in charge of overseeing this educational visit, ensuring a valuable and meaningful experience for the participating students.
